Senior Project Engineer - Process Control Systems

Description:
This position is for a Senior-Level Control Systems Project Engineer with responsibility for leading the detailed hardware and software design of process automation control systems projects.  Most projects involve the use of Allen-Bradley products (ControlLogix, PLC5, SLC500, RSBizWare Batch, RSView, PanelView Plus, etc.), in addition to other PLC platforms (GE Fanuc, Siemens, Modicon), DCS platforms (primarily DeltaV and ABB 800xA) and various SCADA and HMI packages (Intellution, and Wonderware).

Project activities will include defining architecture requirements, developing detailed software design specifications, programming PLC, DCS and SCADA applications, configuring thin client server applications, configuring process based historian databases, tuning control loops, providing control system startup services, troubleshooting existing control systems and providing control system qualifications.  This is a fantastic opportunity to lead projects from concept through commissioning phases.

Skills and Experiences:

• BS in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or related Engineering fields.
• Experience with Allen-Bradley products required (ControlLogix, PLC5, SLC500, RSView, PanelView Plus, RSBizWare RSBatch, etc.).
• Experience implementing detailed control system electrical design packages required.
• Understanding of control system network topology required, i.e. Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, etc.
• Understanding of Biopharmaceutical processes desired.
• GMP and validation experience desired.
• Knowledge of S88 Batch standards and experience implementing batch systems is desired.
• Experience programming various other control systems desired (i.e., GE Fanuc Series 90, Siemens S7, DeltaV, ABB 800xA, Honeywell DCS, Intellution iFIX, and Wonderware). 
• Must be available for some regional project travel.
• Outgoing personality, excellent leadership and communication skills required!

Requirements:
To be considered for this position, the applicant must define in their resume or cover letter their relevant programming experience related to industrial process automation control systems – PLC and/or DCS platforms.  Include the manufacture and model number of the control system and development software package you have experience with.

Instrumentation experience is required. The position requires proficiency in troubleshooting control systems and a detailed understanding of process control. Candidates with programming experience in Emerson DeltaV and ABB 800xA are desired. Control system validation experience of pharmaceutical/biotech systems is a significant advantage.  Experience working in a lead role is required.

Applicant must have at least 5 years working experience with a BS in an engineering or other equivalent technical experience.  Excellent verbal and written skills required.
